Fan Fair Week    

When you continuously produce great songs and albums you then become highly in demand to do all those little things you never thought you'd take part in.  Here's Dan with Marie Osmond during the Music City News awards presentation at the Grand Ole Opry house during fan fair week.

Dan and Kathy Mattea run through their lines at another Music City News Awards show.  The Music City News Awards show takes place during Fan Fair week and generally kicks off the week's famous Fan Fair activities.  These awards are fan voted and highly prized by the artists themselves. The fans first nominate their favorites and then cast their final votes for their favorites. This can be done by means of mail-in ballots found in the Music City News magazine or phone votes.

Here's Dan standing on the table at the Capitol Label booth acknowledging his fans.  It's one of my favorite pictures.  Notice the candy bar sticking out of Dan's back pocket.  

Fan Fair allows the artists and the fans to meet on common ground.  Armed with a sharpie and bottle of water, an artist might stand for hours signing pictures and posing for new ones with the fans.

Although Dan makes a point of meeting with his fans after his shows, there's always so many people at Fan Fair who have never had a chance to catch one of his shows. It's also a chance to meet those fans who travel great distances from overseas to meet with their favorites.
