      BODLES OPERA HOUSE

Chester, New York
September 1, 2000
Maggie's Place offers both a peaceful setting and excellent food so
we took advantage of both to unwind from our 7 hour drive down from
Vermont. Simply said, we stuffed ourselves! It sure was good.

With time to kill before the show started we decided to take a short walk through
the historical section of Chester. Just as we were about to return to the car, Dan
spotted us and gave a yell. We were able to spend a few minutes chatting. While
Dan went to change, we had a short visit with Duke and Porter.

Bodles always impresses me. I can easily understand why it's a favorite of locals and
tourists alike. A small cozy intimate setting is enhanced by the high caliber of
entertainment. Dodie Pettit opened for Dan this time and immediately captured the
attention of the audience. At the finish of her all too short set, Jon Stein of Bodles,
endeared himself to the audience by inviting her back.
As we settled into our seats after the intermission, we were more than ready
for Dan's show. It had been over a year since we'd seen his last one. Suddenly
the show was off and running on a high note and never stopped! There was obviously a bunch of Dan's fans in the audience and they were ready to enjoy the show!
All too soon the show was over. As we lined up to say hello to Dan, I spotted Holly, Dan's
daughter, about the same time as she saw me. We were able to get in a quiet few words
before our turn with Dan came up. I always have a bunch of stuff for him to sign. After saying good bye and thanks to Jon we took off for the hotel. Somehow, they managed to
move it while we were at the show... took us an hour to find it!
