Polly Wog's diary
| Hi, I'm Polly Wog, the Traveling Frog, from Froggy 99.9 FM radio in
Fargo, North Dakota. I'm writing this to tell you about my recent trip to
Holmen, Wisconsin.
My new friends, Amy and Susie, picked me up in Fargo on Saturday, August 16th, and we hit the road at 9:37 am. After all the "necessary" stops, we arrived at our motel in Onalaska, Wisconsin, at 6:15 pm. We ordered pizza in and headed for the swimming pool. Nine hours is a long time for a frog to be out of water!
Sunday, we "hopped" a few miles up the road to Holmen to attend their annual Kornfest. We spent the afternoon enjoying the sights, smells and tastes of the Kornfest. About 5:30 we entered the beer garden and planted ourselves as close to the stage as possible. The highlight of our trip was scheduled for 6:30 . . . a Dan Seals concert! Dan, Duke and Porter hit the stage right on time and kept us thoroughly entertained for the next hour and a half. We got to hear all the wonderful, classic Dan Seals songs, as well as a couple of the old England Dan/John Ford Coley greats. It was an incredible show.
Something that surprised me happened a few songs into the show. Suddenly Duke spotted our chauffeur, Vickie, and lit up with a huge smile and wave. During the break between songs, he advised Porter of our presence as well and we got a big smile and wave from him, too. I guess Vickie wasn't fibbing when she said she had met them a few times before!
After the show I got to personally meet Porter and Duke and have my picture taken with each of them. Then it was on to the meet and greet line where I actually got to meet Dan Seals. I almost croaked when Dan went cheek to cheek with me for a photo! It certainly was the highlight of my trip. I even forgot that I hadn't had a swim for several hours!
Monday found us back on the road, headed home.

I have to get back to the Frog Pond now, but thank you for letting me tell you my story.
