Seals & Seals

Over the next few months ideas began to flow in the form of songs, good songs that deserved to be heard.    More songs were written, a CD made, then scrapped.  The best songs kept, some rewritten, more written but there's never enough time.  With the announcement that Dan & Jimmy were touring together, demands for their show began to trickle in.  It soon became a gentle stream which continues to grow.  People attend the shows not knowing what to expect.  They are soon won over and it's not surprising to see people who attended the first show run outside to get tickets to the second show.

The shows, although polished, present a relaxed fun styled format which presents the older songs by both Dan & Jimmy as well as some of the newer songs written for the upcoming CD.  You can actually see the enjoyment on the faces of the audience as they lip syn or even sing along with some of the songs that they loved in their past but hadn't heard for years.  They are having as much fun as Dan & Jimmy and that's the key to the success of their shows.

There's a closeness on stage that can't be denied.  Master of several instruments,  John "Porter" McMeans has been at Dan's side well over 20 years now with a friendship that continues to grow.  Jimmy's sons Sutherland - on guitar - and Joshua - on bass - not only have brought more family into the mix but also a influence of rock and latin music in their backgrounds.  Both Sutherland and Joshua are awaiting that big break that comes with releasing your first  CD.  Session players are used for both drums and the keyboard.  Blair Masters has been playing keyboards for the group on and off for the past two years as well as Ken Rarick.   The same applies to drummer Brian Owings who is an alternate for Dave Dunseath. There is a constant demand for session players both for road and studio work.  It does benefit the artist to use the same people when they can since they are familiar with the music.  Those of you who have followed Dan  for a number of years might even remember Dave who played drums for Dan back in the early 90's.
